Pierre Gahungu, a small land owner in Burundi, earns a living working in a tailoring shop in a city near his farm. He was forced to flee his land by violence threatened and carried out by members of his cousin’s family who did not have enough land of their own to farm for their subsistence. This is a problem across Burundi, due to extremely high population density.
