Introducing Jennifer Lynaugh

Our spirited new Development Officer brings years of experience to Population Connection’s development team

Jennifer Lynaugh

Population Connection welcomes our energetic new Development Officer, Jennifer Lynaugh. Jenn recently joined the development staff in our San Diego office. She has been calling on many of our loyal and generous members to say ”thank you,” while also introducing herself and asking the question, “How can we serve you better?”

Jenn the Professional

As a development professional for the last 13 years, Jenn has helped many generous individuals support diabetes research, breast health education, and services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse. Jenn has witnessed the power of philanthropy and its ability to transform and even save lives.

Jenn believes whole-heartedly in empowering women around the globe in all aspects of their lives. “Every women should have the ability to make her own decision about whether or not to have children; this decision should not be made for her. Population Connection’s mission resonates so strongly with me because, as an American, I enjoy the many wonderful privileges of personal freedom, an education that allows me to work in my chosen field, and reproductive choice. Why shouldn’t all women enjoy these privileges?”

Having recently attended Population Connection’s premier grassroots lobbying event, Capitol Hill Days, Jenn came away inspired and “fired up” to talk about the need for increased international family planning funding to get to the root of so many of today’s problems—rapid population growth. “After all, we’re all in this together, and everything is connected,” she said.

Jenn is passionate about taking steps to protect and preserve our planet. Like many of you, she understands and appreciates that through stabilizing population we can sustain Earth’s resources for future generations. And as a resident of California, she is very concerned about the water crisis. “I feel a sense of urgency to communicate to anyone and everyone that steps need to be taken now to preserve our most precious and crucial resource—water.”

Jenn at Home

Jenn is a native New Yorker who moved to San Diego with her husband in September 2012. Married just five days, they packed up their belongings and headed cross-country to embark on a journey that would forever change them. Having the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take a year off from their busy lives, they chose to explore this beautiful country by visiting several national parks and embracing all that nature has to offer. Their journey took them up and down the coast of California and through the lush and rugged state of Washington. Needless to say, Jenn loves to travel and is excited by the prospect of seeing more of this country as she visits with many of you to learn your interests, passions, and reasons for supporting Population Connection.

Jenn enjoys hiking, camping, running, writing, reading, all kinds of food, good times with family and friends, meeting new people, and relaxing at the beach. Jenn lives in Ocean Beach, a seaside suburb of San Diego, with her husband, Tim, and their three lovable pets—Scarlet the dog and cats Althea and Moses.

To reach Jenn and find out how you can make an even greater investment in Population Connection’s work, email her at jennifer@popconnect.org or call her directly at (202) 974-7710. She looks forward to speaking with you soon!
